Spring's in the air in NYC and Django NYC is back with more python web development goodness.
First up this month, Daniel Kivatinos and Michael Nusimow of DrChrono.com will be giving a talk on their experience building a startup with Django as well as using Django in the healthcare space.
Next up, we'll be trying something new: the Q&A free-for-all. Django NYC has a pretty awesome mix of experience levels, we have members who just heard about Django yesterday and people who have been working with it from the beginning. Accordingly to try and spread some of that knowledge around and to stir the group up a bit, we're going to devote the second talk slot to a pure Q&A session. Anybody will be welcome to ask any Django related question, basic or advanced, Justin and I will attempt to answer it, and if we don't know the answer we'll throw it out to the group to see if there's anybody who has an answer.
As always we'd love to have a few lightning talks in between our featured events. For those who don't know lightning talks are talks given in 5 minutes or less or any topic. There's no Q&A, you'll be stopped if you go over, and we really mean any topic. Generally it would be good to talk about something relevant to the group, but if you want to give a talk about how awesome your Dog is, go for it (it better be a pretty awesome dog tho). Slides are allowed but not required. This is a great way to get some public speaking experience or to spread the word on something your interested in. Contact Justin or I before the meeting or at the start of the meeting and you'll be good to go.
Last but not least, we'll be going over to Rebar after the meeting for some food, drinks, and conversation. All are welcome but nobody's required to go.
I'm going to be insanely early, anyone want to meet up at reBar beforehand? Well, I'll be there anyways. :-p
