CitizenGroove provides a software as a service product called
DecisionDesk, a tool that streamlines any in-person screening (such as music school auditions or job interviews) by making them digital. We have contracts with large institutions including music colleges, casting agencies, and recruiting firms. We use our flexible form system (powered by dynamically generating django form classes) to generate a multi-page form to the administrator's specification, usually including an upload step. The upload step accepts unlimited video, audio, image, and document files at up to 5gb per file (thanks to amazon S3) which we then process for streaming (to flv and mp3). Once the applicant has submitted their application, it is automatically assigned to the appropriate reviewer on the administrator's staff (school faculty or department head etc.). For example: applicants who selected flute as their major will be assigned to the flute faculty. The faculty examines the media and application, and fills out a review on another highly dynamic generated form. When all is said and done, all that is left for the administrator to do is decide who doesn't make the cut, who needs to fly in for an in-person screening, and who gets in.
I'm a founder and CTO of CitizenGroove which we've been working on this project for about 2 years, been named in the
Top 25 Under 25 by Bloomberg Business Week, but we're in startup phase 2 (scaling) and we could really use the legitimacy/PR/cash that comes with the Intel Award. Please vote for us!
