About Us:

Located in a unique street-level studio in the heart of Chelsea, Wonder is a multidisciplinary branding studio specializing in the true marriage of brand development, design and digital. Serving as strategic and visual consultants for our clients, we provide top tier thinking in all forms of visual branding. Our company consists of a growing group of very talented, hard working individuals. It is a fast paced environment and a tremendous opportunity to join our team and be a key player in it's success and continued growth.

What to expect:

As a member of a small team, you’ll have a voice in how we do things. We have weekly developer meetings where we teach each other new tools, tips and techniques. You’ll work closely with designers, front end developers as well as fellow Django developers on a wide range of projects.

Requirements:
Demonstrable working knowledge of Python and Django (code samples, github, etc.).
Write code that is DRY as possible and as PEP8 compliant as practical.
You write tests.
Familiarity with PostgreSQL/PostGIS. We lean on the ORM and South as much as possible, but if a page has 6k+ SELECT statements, you should know how to optimize your use of the ORM or write raw SQL if necessary.
Know how to use git effectively.
Have deployed production websites.
Familiarity with the Django reusable app eco-system (django-cms, haystack, fabric, etc.) as well as 3rd-party Python libraries and utilities (virtualenv, pip, PIL, etc.).
We are a Mac shop, but as long as you’re comfortable on a *NIX based OS, you’ll be fine.
You should have great time management skills.
You should enjoy working in a team environment.

Pluses:
Linux sysadmin skills (installing, configuring and troubleshooting our deployment stack which is Ubuntu LTS on Rackspace Cloud).
Front-end skills, HTML, CSS and jQuery (using H5BP and Modernizr).
Any experience with Rails or other MVC-ish frameworks.

Even if you don’t match up perfectly with our requirements, if you think you have the chops to ramp up quickly and start making a difference, we’d love to talk. If you’re a Rails developer and always wished you’d been a Django developer instead, now is your chance.

This is an on-site, full-time position (if you’re a recruiter or agency, thanks but no thanks!).
